Yoga & Fitness for Riders

YOGA
The literal translation of the Sanskrit word Yoga means to unite.  A Union, or state of harmony, is exactly what all riders long to achieve each time they climb into the saddle. 

 
Riding and Yoga are both lifelong practices.  There is no time in which you can sit back and congratulate yourself on having learned all there is to know.  By combining both of these ancient art forms, one will find it easier to find the desired state of harmony with the horse.  Mounted Yoga stretches and poses develop balance, focus, strength, and flexibility.

 

FITNESS

Current trends in fitness are focusing on Core stabilization and integration.  For good reason, a strong core is utilized on everything we do,and is key in the prevention of back injuries.  Mounted excercises are taught with a balance ball  which strengthen and challenge one's core.  A strong core enables a rider to stablize one part of his body while moving another.
